The increase in corporate budgets devoted to cybersecurity is whetting appetites, particularly that of Sopra Steria. On October 12, the ESN formalized its entry into exclusive negotiations with a view to getting its hands on EVA Group, a consultancy and expertise firm specializing in the protection of information systems. The transaction, the amount of which has not been disclosed, could be finalized during the fourth quarter of 2021. For the prospective buyer, it would be an opportunity to strengthen its presence in the IT security market, where it ranks fifth place of service companies, according to the firm Teknowlogy.

€33 million in additional revenue for Sopra Steria

Founded in 2007 by three network and telecom specialists (Jean-Victor Garnier, Erwan Brouder and Robert Tran Van Lieu), EVA Group conducts activities that revolve around consulting, auditing, integration, expertise and training. The company, based in Paris, has 240 consultants and experts who serve a portfolio of 80 active clients, mainly large groups in the CAC 40, SBF 120 and the public sector. In France, they operate agencies in Toulouse and Lyon inherited from the takeover of Lineon in 2019. Its international presence is based on establishments in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Morocco, Senegal, Singapore and Hong Kong. Several times present in the ranking of growth champions established by Les Echos and Statista, EVA Group should achieve €33 million in turnover in 2021.

For its part, Sopra Steria claims a network of 2,000 experts dedicated to infrastructure and, for 800 of them, to cybersecurity in France. The contribution of EVA Group would constitute an acceleration lever to position it as one of the three leaders of the cybersecurity market in France, indicates the ESN in a press release.
